Description
The most beautiful times of the day are just as the sun rises and sets. The low angle of light and color shift in between day and night call attention to things that my otherwise be missed. Dusk reminds us to reflect on the day and soak in its beauty. In homage to this transitory time, I made a small work of art in fused glass enamel on copper with pure silver accents, entitled, “Lake at Dusk.” I created the scene by applying the glass colors and firing them layer by layer at 1420 to 1500 degrees F. The moon and water reflections are pure silver embedded in the glass. The copper shines from beneath the transparent glass. The copper plaque is 6 inches square, the pine wood frame is 15 inches square. The glass that captures fleeting moments in time will last for centuries.
