Copper Enamel Ornament, Galactic Blue Spiral

Description

A small work of art to brighten any space, this ornament features a galactic spiral in shades of deep blue. I made it by hand from reclaimed roofing copper and fired glass enamel colors onto them in a kiln at 1500-1600 degrees Fahrenheit. I developed the freeform design by layering midnight blue over a transparent base which allows the copper to shine from underneath the glass. The ornament is about 3 1/2 x 2 7/8 inches and hangs from a satin ribbon. OOAK. Made of glass and metal, it can be displayed indoors or outdoors in a sheltered location, free from impacts.
