Copper Enamel Ornament, Lavender Spiral

Description

A small work of art to brighten any space, this ornament features a timeless spiral design. I made it by hand from reclaimed roofing copper and fired glass enamel colors onto them in a kiln at 1500-1600 degrees Fahrenheit. I developed the freeform design through the molten interaction of translucent lavender and white, while the copper shines from underneath the glass. The ornament is about 3×3 inches and hangs from a satin ribbon. This work of art is one of a kind. Made of glass and metal, it can be displayed indoors or outdoors in a sheltered location, free from impacts.
