Firing a demo in my Wednesday night class. I demonstrated the sgraffito technique where one layer of enamel is fired, then another layer of enamel is applied. It is then dried, designs scratched through, then fired. It was a fun, introductory class. Next week we’ll do stenciling!
I’ve been working on bowls. A shallow dish with a stormy sky scene. The lightening bolts are silver foil fused between layers of glass. The deeper, larger bowls are floral in shape. I concentrated on the transparent vivid colors, and especially love how the dark solid blue contrasts with the brilliant golden color inside. More [...]
