Hammered Copper Enamel and Sterling Earrings with Fresh Water Pearls
These handmade original earrings are hammered copper with glass enamel, sterling silver, and tinted fresh water pearls. They are asymmetrical, reflecting the individual beauty of natural forms.
I began this pair of by hammering the leaf shapes from reclaimed roofing copper using a technique called fold forming. I then fired glass enamel onto the copper. I used traditional silversmithing techniques to make the earwires and links for the fresh water pearls.
The longest earring is 3 inches (7 1/2 cm) long.
