Hammered Copper Enamel and Sterling Earrings with Chrysoprase
These handmade original earrings are hammered copper with glass enamel, sterling silver, chrysoprase and fresh water pearls. They are asymmetrical, reflecting the individual beauty of natural forms.
I began this pair of by hammering the leaf shapes from reclaimed roofing copper using a technique called fold forming. I then fired glass enamel onto the copper. I used traditional silversmithing techniques to make the earwires and links for the chrysoprase and fresh water pearls.
The longest earring is 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) long.
