Making an Enamel Bangle from an Old Copper Pipe

I found a short length of heavy copper pipe at a scrap yard and immediately thought of bracelets, but it was a long time before I was able to develop the idea. Because the pipe was seamless, I knew enameling was going to be a part of my process. I cut the pipe into many cross sections and just started hammering. Each bangle took 3 to 4 courses of hammering to bring it to the right proportions. I used cross pein hammers to give it a robust texture that would show through transparent enamel.
